IT’S TIME TO FEEL ROOTED IN WHO YOU ARE.
Michiah McFarland, M.Ed., NCC, LPC Associate
Supervised by Dr. Carole Gilmore, PhD, LPC-S
You’re here because you’ve been carrying a lot, and you’re ready to feel more grounded, more clear, and more like yourself again.
You’re in the right spot.
What It’s Like to work together
At the core of my work is helping you feel rooted in who you are while creating space for meaningful growth.
I’m Michiah McFarland, LPC Associate, and founder of Rooted & Bloom Counseling & Wellness. I work with teens, young adults, adults, and couples who may feel disconnected or uncertain about how to move forward and are looking for a space to grow, heal, and better understand themselves and their relationships.
Therapy with me is a space where you can better understand yourself, make sense of what you’ve been carrying, and recognize the strengths you already have. Together, we focus on small, meaningful steps that support growth and lasting change.
This process isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about feeling supported, building confidence in yourself, and moving forward in a way that feels steady and aligned with who you are.
HEre’s what I believe about therapy:
Healing is both emotional and spiritual
There is space for your faith to be part of the process
Growth doesn’t have to be rushed to be meaningful
Real change happens through small, intentional steps over time
You already have strengths within you, even if they don’t feel clear right now
Therapy helps you recognize what’s already there and build from it
Support that meets you where you are.

I draw from different approaches to meet you where you are and support you in a way that fits your needs.
Solution Focused Therapy: We focus on what’s already working and build on your strengths, helping you take small, meaningful steps forward.
Person-Centered Therapy: You are the expert of your own experience. I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are.
Faith-Based Therapy: I integrate a spiritual perspective into our work, allowing space for both emotional and spiritual growth throughout the process.

When I'm not in the therapy room, you'll usually find me spending time with family and friends, hanging out with my dog, Astro, or enjoying time outdoors. I'm a big believer in getting outside and touching grass!
I also have a big personality and genuinely enjoy laughing. While therapy creates space for meaningful conversations and deeper work, I believe there can also be room for humor along the way. Depending on the moment, we may laugh together, cry together, celebrate wins together, and work through the hard stuff together.

As an LPC Associate, I have completed my graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have passed the National Counselor Examination (NCE). I am currently gaining additional supervised clinical experience as I continue to grow in my work as a therapist.
I work under the guidance of a licensed supervisor, which means I receive ongoing support, consultation, and feedback to ensure I am providing thoughtful, ethical, and effective care.
This process allows me to continue developing as a clinician while offering you a high level of support and intentional care throughout our work together.
